BALANAS CLASSICAL MASTERCLASSES

BALANAS CLASSICAL was founded by Kristīne, Margarita and Roberts Balanas - all international soloists who have performed around the globe in venues such as the Royal Festival Hall, Wigmore Hall, Berliner Philharmonie, Walt Disney Hall amongst others. Their experience making music with the leading lights in the field, combined with youthful energy and enthusiasm for outreach, has led them to create BALANAS CLASSICAL.

INSPIRING A NEW GENERATION OF MUSICIANS

Looking beyond the standard concert-hall setting, BALANAS CLASSICAL aims to reach out to bring music to a new generation of musicians who crave interaction and engagement, striving for newer ways to bring enjoyment to everyone around them.

Consisting of individual lessons, concert performances and ensemble workshops, the masterclasses offer a unique experience for the students to learn and progress under the guidance of distinguished musicians.

GIVING A VOICE TO YOUNG MUSICIANS

Empowering young musicians with the tools for success is essential in today’s musical landscape. Each participant of Balanas masterclasses walks away with a professional video recording and photos of their performance. The footage can be used for their professional development, be it when applying for further educational opportunities, music competitions or for building up their online presence.

ENGAGING NEW AUDIENCES

Bringing masterclasses to a global audience with the help of social media:

While the lockdown at the time of the 2020 Balanas masterclasses prohibited people from witnessing the lessons in person, the live-streamed lessons of the 2020 masterclasses reached more than 80 000 viewers across the globe, with the closing concert and ensemble performance additionally amassing over 100 000 views.
